As with any surgical procedure, there are risks and complications that
accompany the Stapled Transanal Rectal Resection (STARR) procedure.
Complications that may occur following a STARR procedure include bleeding,
leaks or infection, urinary retention, incontinence, fistula (pouch) formation
or dyspareunia (painful intercourse).
You should consult your physician to determine if the procedure is appropriate
for you.
